Horse Training Success Story!

Dear Larry,

Thanks for the e-mail and training tips. Just had to say I'm amazed. After just 10 minutes of reading the horse training tips and watching your free video clips, I could actual see exactly how to stop my horse and get good results.

None of all the books and videos I've ever seen have shown this or made it so obvious.

Thank you once again – I still can't believe I learned so much in such a short space of time.

Hi Mr. Trocha,
I have been on your horse training tips e-mail list for some time now and I am interested in having a horse or maybe two put into training with you. If you could please e-mail me with the steps you would have me take that would be wonderful. I also have a couple of other questions for you.
Thanks much, Megan Howell

What is your take on Appendix Quarter Horses in reining and performance classes. I am looking at a 2 year old Appendix who doesn't have the Appendix Thoroughbred look. He's built much stockier like a quarter horse just with a little bit longer neck.

Mr Trocha: I have a appy/quarter cross 16 years old and I believe he has never been trained to flex his neck and too let loose. I don't want to upset him but what is the best way for me to get him to flex. I try, he fights me, I ask for the turn of the head but he moves his whole body and backs-up. What solution do you recommend for this stubbern gentleman
Thank you
Patricia

@Patricia Edge: Yes, the German martingale includes the reins.

I think you will like the results you get from using it.

LARRY, THANK YOU FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE BUT I WAS ACTUALLY WANTING TO KNOW MORE ON THE LINES OF COULD THE WRONG KIND OF FOOTING POTENTIALLY RUIN A HORSE IN REINING/COW TRAINING? OR PREVENT HIM FROM PERFORMANING PROPERLY? IS THERE SUCH THING AS BAD FOOTING? NOT DEEP ENOUGH? OR ENOUGH CUSHION? OR TYPES? HOPE YOU CAN HELP :) THANX IN ADVANCE

@LarryTrocha: LARRY, THANKS FOR YOUR QUICK REPLY. THE ARTICLE HAD GOOD INFO BUT I WAS LOOKING MORE ON THE LINES OF IS THERE SUCH THING AS "BAD FOOTING" TO TRAIN IN? CAUSING HORSE TO NOT PERFORM TO HIS POENTIAL OR POTENTIALLY CAUSING INJURY? ARE THERE TYPES OF FOOTING THAT ARE BETTER THEN OTHERS WHENS TRAINING COW HORSES? DOES GROOMING PROPERLY PLAY A BIG OR LITTLE PART? WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR OPINION. THANKS IN ADVANCE

I have found your tips both straight forward and inspiring. I must back up and re-master my riding habits. After a long layoff due to health, I have found myself and my horses doing things that make riding a job instead of enjoyment. With the help from your tips and videos I do believe that I can reverse this trend in short order. MANY THANKS!!!

I have just about all of your videos and dvd's, and I've applyed them all to my horse's and the way you explaine things it works! Now you might have to apply it to your horse two or three times to get it to catch on but that depends on the horse some get it the first time! Just wanted to praise you alittle bit you dang well deserve it and then some! Thanks again, and keep doing what your doing!:)

DUH????? Wouldn't the next step be to introduce him to him to his next best friend or in a worse scenerio (his choice) of course, worst enemy? It's the final say that matters—he's gonna do it and you're the one that has to make him like it. He can do it the easy way, or the rough way.
