I have a white Tennessee Walking Horse. He recently has started throwing his head every time I get on him. I have to get off of him and then I believe I am rewarding him because he doesn’t have to work. I finally decided that I need to work him on the ground until he tires and lets me ride him. I am afraid that I could get hurt when he starts throwing his head. I have taken him to the doctor and there is nothing wrong with his teeth. He is 5 years old. I started riding him with a hackamore and he got worse. His nose seems to be very sensitive because he burns easily. So I keep him in during the day and he is loose all night long. I tried riding him at night but that has not worked either. Any suggestions other than what I plan to do?? Please advise as I so want to eliminate this problem.
