Larry's training is focused on establishing a solid foundation of the basics. Then, gradually building on that foundation to produce a finished, well-trained horse. Call Larry to set up an "evaluation" appointment for your horse. It’s only $50.
Instruction that is absolutely second to none.
Larry’s lesson program is the best to be found. His unique way of teaching has produced too many successful riders to count. Larry’s students have gone on to win year-end championships, class championships, championship saddles and buckles and "most improved rider" awards.
(For the last three years in a row, Larry's students have won the hi-point Championship Saddle for their local association! And it was with a different student each year.)
As a student, you will receive crystal clear instruction that is easy to understand and fits your level of experience. Beginners, as well as advanced riders, are welcome. Call 707-480-0507 to make a "lesson" appointment.
Please feel free to call me if you're interested in having your horse trained or shown. I'll be happy to discuss with you my training and showing program.

Hi Larry

Hi Larry
Hello Larry,
I really need some advice for my upcoming 2-year old. I just purchased a beautiful AQHA filly. Shes 15 hands as if right now and will possibly get up to 16.2 or 16.3 when shes older. I'm hoping to do English Pleasure, and Trail with her. And I've used your training videos to teach my other horses how to do spins, rollbacks, etc. In January my filly will be 2 years old. I've talked to some trainers about riding her. I was thinking about riding her at 2 1/2. However I have some friends who said I can ride her when shes 2, but very lightly for 4 times a month. I honestly have no idea when I should start riding her, I would love to hear from a professional on when to start riding her.
Thank you very much I appreciated it!

Hi Larry,
My name is Staci and I own a mare by Elans Playboy, out of Smart Belle (x Smart Little Lena). She is in foal to Mister Dual Pep. I have high hopes for the foal but am new to NCHA, NRCHA… At what age would you start working with the foal to gauge it's potential? I don't want to wait until it's a yearling and find out that I should have sent him/her off for training as a weanling…as I have heard some people do. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!
Staci
Hi Larry
Love your website and the valuable information I constantly gain from your site.
Just a question that I hope you can help with. I have an almost 11 month old paint (now gelding) that has this sucking behaviour going on. He only does it with me (or to my knowledge), my husband has never experienced it. Particularly in his stable when I go in to to rug him, take rugs off or just leave over the partition to give his a pat he starts sucking on my jumper, it occasionally has teeth involved but usually is just a lip thing. Tonight he is sucking on my arm, not sweating ?? a salt thing!! I just cannot remember if he was doing this when we got him but I have really noticed a real pattern of it in the last month. I usually firmly say "no" and he stops immediately. Looking forward to hearing from you.
I will keep working on my shortlist of DVD's, at the moment I want ALL of them.
Kind regards Karen
It was awesome to watch the cutting horse video you have up right now.
Hi Larry, I have purchased a filly my first young horse and i will be purchasing your starting dvd's. She is a well bred filly with no holes in her pedigree(every horse is a ncha money winner) both the sire and dam are being shown in reined cow horse competitions and come to Canada from the states, i really want her to be a show horse as well. I am from British Columbia Canada so sending her to you is not really a option, I have done a lot of research on where I will probably be sending this filly for her training and even though she is still a baby I want to be prepared for this venture in our lives. I am wondering if you have any good ideas or know of anyone that you would recommend in Canada for her training and evaluation, I know this could be a long shot but I don't see any harm in asking. I am not a pro rider Larry but I am willing to invest the money and time if she will have the ability, I am a hard worker, good athlete, not bad horseman and a good learner. I have decided to make my horses a big part of my life and I am fascinated by the cutting horse industry and really want to be a part of it, I also know Larry that this is going to be probably the hardest thing I have ever done in my life but nothing is impossible and with the right guidance from the right people I am pretty sure she will be successful, so if you have any ideas for me I would be very happy to hear them.
P.S. I have a pretty good idea of what I have to do to accomplish my goals and I have some time to learn but time goes by fast, and I want to find a program I can enroll her in from start to finish.
Thank You
Gary S
