Mr. Trocha,
I noticed you posted on speedroping.com and he left an open invitation for you to go over. That would be too cool to see.

@Juliann W.A.: Hi Juliann. When it comes to reading cattle, there is just no substitute for experience.

Had pruchased one of your tapes recently and after many times watching, I went to a cutting clinic for the first time over 2 days of the weekend. Got on a real cow last day. Fantastic IM Hooked !!! Just wondering if you could help this non cow person how to read the cattle or does this just come with years of practise ?? My horse is the cowy one and a rope horse but gave me a couple of really nice cuts after working the machanical cow on our first day. Once again Thank you I had the confidance to have a go and I am loving it. XX

Mr. Trocha,
Here's another idea for the person whose horse will only lope fast. I've had success with certain horses by loping them "shoulder in" and "shoulder out". The rider should first be able to do this comfortably with complete control at the trot. I start with shoulder out and maintain this posture until the horse rates AND softens. When they do, I release and let them lope. If they speed up again, I simply repeat. I alternate between the two and if the horse has a more difficult time in or out, I spend more time on that side. Hope this makes sense and helps.
Frank
ps. Thank you for graciously sharing tips from you knowledge and experience.
