This video gives you the opportunity to learn from one of the
all-time greats. On this tape you'll experience Pat Patterson sharing
some of his most successful training secrets. He also shares his
opinions about the cutting industry and what he feels Non Pros need to
know. It's great advice given from a man who's won more than a million
dollars in cutting competition.
This tape focuses on the training of intermediate to advanced cutting
horses. The training demonstrations start with a three-year old filly
who is making some major mistakes. Pat explains the reason for her
mistakes and shows what needs to be done to correct them.
Next, Pat schools an advanced three-year old and points out where the
horse needs to be improved. He also works his Fort Worth Futurity horse
so the viewer can see what a flawless horse works like.
This is followed up with Pat's daughter, Debbie, schooling an older
mare that she won the Non Pro World Championship on. Pat critics her job
of schooling and explains what she did right and what she should have
done differently.
Very educational stuff.
This is a tape I feel every cutter should watch over and over again.
Pat's style of training cutting horses is about as good as it gets.
Though his training techniques are somewhat different from what you'll
see in the Bill Freeman videos, they are just as valid, and offer an
alternative way of training a cutting horse.
