German Martingale
German Martingale, full adjustable and made of top quality harness leather.
Designed for western horses.
Hi Larry,
I have an ex-racehorse mare. Sweet as can be. She's an angel on trails but when we do ring work she'll either put her head up so high that I have no control or drop her head almost to the ground and run away. She'll carry herself nicely when she's not doing these things at a walk/trot but do you think a german martingale would help correct this problem all together?
Hi Larry, how big of a horse will the german martingale fit? My horse is 15.3H and a bit of a wide body. Thanks Teresa
Have you had any experience on these with gaited horses, like a Tennessee Walker? They tend to be naturally more high-headed than your QH's, which is ok, but I have a mare that could definitely stand some help flexing at the poll. I don't mind a more upright neck carriage, if they are built for it, but it'd be awesome to have another tool to teach flexing at the poll!
Larry: My gelding tosses his head around and up, was thinking a martingale might be a good teaching tool. I can get him to collect with reg. split reins but he's strong minded and needs some discipline as when he feels he's had enough, the fight is on.
Thanks.
Donna
hi larry, does the martingale come complete with headstall and bit??
Hi Larry,
I was wondering if the German Martingale comes with regular one piece reins? Ive never used split reins. Also, my pony is 13.2 but built like a tank. Would you still try them?
Thank You,
Mary
Hi Larry, thank you for all of your fantastic training tips and suggestions. You are an excellent teacher and I look forward to ordering your videos.
QUESTION: Is it acceptable to use the German Martingale on the trail?
Thank you very much! I especially enjoyed your breakdown of when to ask for the stop!
Blessings to you~
