Hey!
I have been reading your newsletter for quite some time and was curious if you think the foundation starter package would be best for me? Let me give you some background info. I am getting a 5 year old paint gelding that has go man go and jet something or other in his background. He had 90 days as a three year old (or so I was told) and then left to sit. So basically I will be starting over. I don't know the extinguish of his training either. I want to barrel race and just have him do local shows in the future so I would like a solid start to make him an all around horse. I am a rather small woman (5 feet and 115 lbs), but am a very experienced rider. However; I have never started my own horse so this is a start! If you could email me or call me that would be fantastic!
Thanks,
Kenzie

Hello Larry,

I hace a 4 1/2 he gelding that I just got, he is very responsive when taught correctly. He is very entle and broke. I have worked on things here and there but nothing major because I do not know the basics real well. Before I go any further, which package do you recommend considering that the horse is not a colt and that I am an experienced rider but that does not know the techniques to teach reining, stopping, etc..
Please call me if possible for you and we can chat briefly to give you the quick details for you to assess.
Thanks
Pepe

@<a href="#comment-11888">Marilu Muphy</a>: Hi Marilu. Glad to hear you are having success with your new horse. I agree with you... training a nice horse is lots of fun.

I would next recommend the Performance Package: http://www.horsetrainingvideos.com/performance-package.htm

Applying the principles in those dvds will take your filly to the next level.

If you would like to do team sorting or ranch sorting, train your horse similar to a cutting horse: http://www.horsetrainingvideos.com/cuttersonly.htm

Or... You could go for the Mega Package: http://www.horsetrainingvideos.com/mega-package.htm... and get a huge discount.

Call up the office and ask Bev to substitute other dvds for the two you already have.

To be good, you'll need to learn to read cattle.

Go and watch as many cattle events as you can and pay attention to their body language.

Also... in the near future, I'll be opening the Inner Circle to new members.

It may be something you will like.

Good luck,

Larry T.

HI Larry
I have just recently purchased your Foundation Training for turns, Circles and Leads. I also purchased Western Riding Know How. I have just returned to my passion of riding from a 28 year absence of "Life getting in the way". I used to show halter and western pleasure so that's where my training lies. I am interested in team sorting (which I have never done before) and of course just trail riding. I have purchased a young 3 year old filly (Doc's Hickory breeding) that has had about 60 days of professional training on her. She is very smart and willing with a wonderful disposition. I want to keep her that way. I find that your videos are very informative and easy to learn from. I am also finding that there are a lot if changes in training from when I was involved. I have lots to learn and am truly enjoying the experience.
Can you recommend the videos that I should add to my collection please now that I have these two that I mentioned earlier in my email.
Thank you

@<a href="#comment-8477">Ben</a>: Hi Ben. I'm not very familiar with the different brands of bitless bridles that are being sold.

Unless, your horse has a physical problem, like a cut tongue, there is no good reason to use one.

A horse isn't going to respond to it nearly as well as he'd respond to a bit or a braided California hackamore.
