@sharon: Hi Sharon. the curb chain attaches to the same loops as the headstall.

Adjust it so the shanks can travel about 2" before the curb chain makes contact.

Sirs:
I am using a billy allen western reining bit with the roller bar on my horse. My question is, where does the curb chain get attached? I have it at the loop where the headstall is connected, but there are 2 loops directly behind the bit itself, and have had mixed advice on the curb chain placement.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

@JD: Hi JD. Thanks for purchasing the bit. I prefer a 1/2" wide chain curb but there are plenty of folks who like a leather curb just as well.

I just purchased the Billy Allen bit from you and was curious what curb strap you recommend to go with it?

Hi!! I ride a 10 year old quarter mare, who for the most part, is wonderful...however, in a large group of riders, or any time she seems to get over stimulated, I feel as though I don't have enough control. I ride her in just a snaffle. Do you have any ideas for my situation. I normally don't have to keep pulling on her, except for her occasional outbursts!! I feel like I just need something a little stronger when I know I might be riding in the out of the ordinary trail ride.

Thanks!! Kat
