Hi Larry, thanks for the informative and clear videos, I've just started doing versatility with my gelding and am in need of a cowhorse type saddle. I've tried one that I chose on the basis of the points in your videos - could feel an immediate difference in my balance and position but it isn't quite right for him. My old roping saddle is great for him and not so good for me! I've got one other semi local option to try and then it's going to be on to the mail order thing. Can you steer to me to a maker or two that you have some first hand knowledge of? Or - let me know what you don't think works from a rider standpoint so I can at least eliminate those. I have enough budget I think to get a quality saddle, especially if I can luck into a used one, $2000-3000 depending on condition, I just don't want to fritter away hundreds of dollars on shipping charges trying to find one. Thanks very much!

@Laura: Hi Laura. These days, you'll have to spend a minimum of $2500 even for a good used saddle.

Hi Larry,

Thank you for posting those videos; I've been looking for info about reining saddles and I haven't found anything too appealing. I'm looking for my first saddle for school so I don't want to spend too much money, but I don't want to compromise the quality of a saddle for the low cost. Do you know of any good quality reining or training saddles that aren't too expensive? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!
